Pressure Converter
Force per area - pascals, bars, psi, atmospheres.
Enter a value above to convert between bar and psi.
How to convert pressure units
Pressure is based on the pascal (one pascal is one newton per square meter). The common units relate as: 1 bar = 100,000 Pa, 1 atmosphere = 101,325 Pa, and 1 psi = 6,894.76 Pa. Meteorologists use the hectopascal (hPa), which equals the millibar.
Worked example
A 32 psi tyre is 32 × 6894.76 = 220,632 Pa = 2.21 bar. Standard atmospheric pressure is one atmosphere, which is 1013.25 hPa = 14.696 psi.
What is 1 atmosphere in pascals?
One standard atmosphere equals 101,325 pascals, which is 1013.25 hPa (millibar) or 14.696 psi. One bar equals 100,000 Pa, one psi equals 6,894.76 Pa, and one millimeter of mercury equals 133.322 Pa.
When you'll use a pressure converter
Pressure conversion is useful for tyre pressure (psi, bar, kPa), weather (hectopascals, atmospheres, mmHg), diving, engineering, and blood pressure (mmHg). The table above lists your value in all 7 supported units at once.
