Privacy Statement

Your conversions stay on your device.

You don't need an account, your calculations happen inside your browser, and we don't sell your personal information. The full detail is below.

The short version

  • No account needed. Conversions run locally in your browser and the values you type are never sent to us.
  • Small things on your device. We use your browser's local storage only to remember your theme and your cookie choice.
  • Ads use cookies, with your consent. Advertising cookies are set only after you accept them.
  • You're in control. You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time, and you can use browser and industry opt-out tools.
01

Who we are

Unit Converter Center (the "Site") is operated by ERP BUSINESS SOLUTIONS LTD ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described in this statement - that is, we are the data controller.

If you have any question about privacy, or you want to exercise a privacy right, contact us at [contact email]. This is also the contact for the person responsible for the protection of personal information.

02

What we collect and why

The Site is a simple converter. You do not need an account, and we do not track you across other websites. The numbers you enter are converted locally in your browser and are never sent to or stored on our servers. We collect only what is described below.

Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information when you visit - your IP address, browser type, the page that referred you, and the date and time of the request. We use this to keep the Site secure, to fix problems, and to understand overall traffic. We do not use it to identify you personally. Legal basis: legitimate interests
Device preferences
Your theme choice and your cookie choice are stored in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. It is essential to make the Site work the way you set it. Legal basis: strictly necessary
Advertising data
If you accept advertising cookies, our advertising partners may collect information such as your approximate location, the pages you view, and an advertising identifier, in order to show and measure ads. See section 04. Legal basis: consent
03

Information stored on your device

We use your browser's local storage to remember two small preferences: your light or dark theme, and your cookie-consent choice. This information stays on your device, is not sent to us, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser data. Because these items are essential to the Site working as you set it, they do not require consent.

04

Cookies and advertising

We display third-party advertising on this website, which helps keep it free to use. Advertising cookies are set only after you accept them in our consent banner. If you decline, no advertising cookies are set, and you see only non-personalized advertising, or none, as available.

When you accept, third-party advertising partners may set their own cookies and similar technologies to show more relevant ads and to measure performance:

Third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites, and to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.

Consent in Europe, the UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a consent banner before any non-essential cookie is set, and we identify the partners that may receive your data. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the consent banner. Without consent, personalized advertising is not shown.

How to opt out

You can change your choice on the Site through the consent banner at any time. You can also control or opt out of personalized advertising through these tools:

05

Who we share information with, and where it goes

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers and partners that make the Site work:

  • Our hosting provider, which records the server logs described in section 02.
  • Third-party advertising partners, where you have accepted advertising cookies. Each partner's use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy.

Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including countries whose data-protection laws differ from those where you live. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the providers' standard contractual clauses.

06

How long we keep your data

Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, and are then deleted or anonymized. Preferences stored on your device remain until you clear your browser data. Advertising cookies last for the periods set by the advertising partner; you can review and delete them through your browser at any time.

07

Your privacy rights

Europe, the UK and Switzerland GDPR

You have the right to access your data; to correct or delete it; to restrict or object to how we use it; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.

United States & California CCPA

Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your information for money, but using advertising partners may count as "sharing." You can opt out through our consent banner and your browser's privacy controls.

Canada PIPEDA · Law 25

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to withdraw your consent. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Québec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

08

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the Site and the limited information it handles. No method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age set by the law where they live (for example, under 13 in the United States, or under 16 in parts of the European Union). If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here. For any question, or to exercise a privacy right, contact us at [contact email].
